Washington Nationals Dream Foundation

I had the grand pleasure of playing piano for the Washington Nationals Dream Gala a couple of weeks ago – and what a night it was! Most of the players were there, along with spouses/significant others, several hundred people, and the Presidents! (The huge president heads that you see running around during baseball games.) There was a silent auction and lots of mingling going on as I played background jazz standards, blues … and Aladin’s “A Whole New World,” requested by pitcher Gio Gonzales. The Presidents would come by every once in a while, and at one point Teddy hopped up on stage to air jam next to me. Luckily, the moment was captured and tweeted by a journalist 🙂 Best pic of #DreamGala to date pic.twitter.com/c2oKO2SCp1 —...

Valentine’s Day Music at the DoubleTree

Our Valentine’s performance was a total blast! It had all the important elements: great people, amazing venue, and of course, love. We spent the evening singing through nearly all of the love songs we knew – lots of jazz standards, some latin, and some pop as the guests rotated slowly around us, enjoying the music and crystal-clear views of the Pentagon and downtown Washington. I actually played for two different crowds – the weekly Comedy Zone dinner on the 12th floor, then a couple of sets with Tessa in the Skydome. Pictures from both below! It was a great night 🙂

1920’s-themed Holiday Party

This just may have been the most fun themed party I’ve been to. It was set in the Roaring 20’s with a live jazz band, professional dancers, horse races, photo booths, while I played solo jazz piano in the ‘speakeasy.’ The decorations were superb, the people were a blast and the food was incredible! I hope they do it again next year …

Piano at the Cosmos Club

I had the pleasure of playing again for the Brattle Group’s DC office. This year, the party was held at DC’s Cosmos Club – a very elegant and respected Washington establishment. Passing several pianos on the way to the banquet hall, the one that was ready for me was a freshly-tuned Kimball. It was very fun to play, and I went through several jazz and latin standards while guests arrived and got drinks. After dinner, we were treated to a fantastic magic show by Michael Cantor, with card tricks, telepathy and stuffed bunnies. It was a pleasant evening with lots of good people...

Upcoming Show: Old Town Theater July 26

Frost Advisory is thrilled to be back at Alexandria’s Old Town Theater this Friday, July 26 at 8pm. We had a marvelous jazz show last week, and will be playing mostly the same tunes this time – with a few adjustments. Well … our set list will be mostly the same, but we’ll see what actually happens 😉 Our next show at Old Town after this week will be September 5, and there’s already an Old Town Theater Jazz Night Groupon available for that. Also, come say “hi” on our new Facebook profile!...
