Harry Connick Jr at Wolf Trap

WHAT A SHOW The audience was not disappointed in the least: ┬áthis was a full-blown, well-rounded, completely entertaining Harry Connick Jr concert to a sold-out Wolf Trap crowd. Connick’s stage presence and personal appeal are unparalleled, not to mention his chops! In addition to some piano (but not enough IMO) and plenty of vocals, he played trumpet, a bit of percussion, and several different keys instruments including a Hammond organ and an electric piano. Backing him up was a 6-piece string section, 6.5 piece horn section, 1.5 drummers and, for the second half, a guitar. This has become one of my most favorite songs to play! This video shows a few of us performing When the Saints Go Marching In at our rehearsal dinner, of all places. We didn’t have any time to rehearse this piece, and in fact, the drummer didn’t even know what the songs was when I started (I knew he could figure it out). Allison’s tap dance was a brilliant addition, and Tessa’s vocals helped bring the whole room along with us!
