Baltimore Choral Arts at the M&T Bank Exchange

It was a profound pleasure to return to the piano this year for the Baltimore Choral Arts Society. After the wonderful experience of performing for their 2024 Gala, being invited back for their 2025 Gala “Beyond the Stage” showcase felt like catching up with old friends.

Pianist Jay Frost positioned on a raised stage at the M&T Bank Exchange, prepared for the Baltimore Choral Arts Society performance.

An Audience of True Artists

There is something uniquely inspiring about playing for this specific community. The audience isn’t just a group of spectators; they are a deeply knowledgeable collective of music lovers and appreciators. Perhaps most importantly, they are incredible singers themselves! Performing for a room full of people who truly “breathe” the music with you makes every note feel more resonant.

A Striking New Setting

One of the most notable highlights of this year’s event was the change in venue. Performing at the M&T Bank Exchange was a breath-taking experience. The location successfully blends the grandeur of the past with modern sophistication, featuring:

  • Dramatic Lighting: The atmosphere was perfectly curated to match the emotional weight of the repertoire.

  • Inspiring Open Spaces: The architecture provides a sense of scale and airiness that invites the music to soar.

  • Living History: You can feel the decades of history wrapped in the walls of the building, providing a grounded, timeless backdrop to a contemporary performance.

Thank you for including me in an unforgettable evening!
