Karmin opens their tour at the Baltimore Soundstage
We were there! One week ago today. There was lots of lights, colors, dancing, jumping, pzazz, spunk, and best of all – good music by real musicians. The bassist, Andrew James, is a friend of ours and put our names on The List, which was cool 🙂 It was great to see him rocking it with the band on the opening night of their Pulses tour.
Lead singer Amy was very easy and fun to watch. She worked the crowd, promoted new material, and talked between songs about the right amount – not to little that we wanted more, but not too much that we just wanted her to get back to the music. Nick was a little more confusing as he switched between singing, playing keys, and running around in his all-green outfit, but when he grabbed his trombone everything clicked into place. My absolute favorite part of the show was a short I-wish-it-were-longer trombone solo near the end that sounded like a Spanish trumpet, blasting out exotic notes over the rock fusion background. So good.
