Playing Piano at Retirement Communities
At a performance earlier this week I was reminded how much I enjoy performing for the folks at retirement centers and communities. It is very fulfilling to connect with people on a musical level – especially when other methods of communication might not be as easy.
There is always extra excitement when I happen to play an old favorite – and it is amazing how music can reach one’s heart so easily. Some of the favorite tunes were Tea for Two, Misty, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Pink Panther, and one of my personal favorites, The Bear Necessities.
