Throwing Curve Balls to the Trio (video)
Here are two final videos from our Capital Hilton gig earlier this month. These pieces aren’t jazz standards like we had planned to play … I ended up deciding that we needed to spice things up a bit as the night wore on, and unfortunately we didn’t have any spiced up tunes in our repertoire. I also wanted a couple of tunes that average people would recognize (since many of the jazz standards we played aren’t commonly known to the average corporate dinner guest) so I reached back to my early piano days for these ideas which we then cooked up spontaneously on the spot.
